Who We Are

Proximity Films is a Toronto-based production company specializing in social issue documentaries. Producer credits include Class Queers (2003), a look at teenagers and homophobia commissioned by CBC; Debt Trap (2008), an examination of the consumer debt crisis for Global TV and Listen to This (2011), a profile of a music program for inner city children which was nominated for a 2011 Gemini for Best Arts Documentary. Our latest documentary is Mission Possible, a profile of Canada’s top holder of Guinness world records.

In addition, we are the service producer for Mediatique, a Toronto‐based company that specializes in French‐language programming. Since 2001, we have been involved in the production of 15 documentaries for various French‐language broadcasters including Radio‐Canada, TV5, TFO and Canal D.

Proximity Films also provides business affairs support for other documentary production companies. Services include funding applications, budget preparation and tax credit calculations.
